Baby, It’s Cold Outside

It’s a snow day today. I haven’t had one of these in quite a while. The snow is sprawling outside and it looks pretty outside. I may consider going outside, if our front door wasn’t broken. It has signs on it saying “Do Not Use” and “Hot”. I have no clue what happened to the poor door. I think it got sick. I guess the window will suffice.

I laughed looking at WCBS’s school closings online. Yonkers’ Public Schools are closed. So is St. Barnabas HS. But other places I’ve been to? St. Eugene’s? No mention whatsoever. Stepinac? Nope. No mention. Haha. I laugh.

I recall days when I would be sitting in the kitchen listening to 103.9 WFAS, my mother was making some kind of breakfast, for some reason I recall Filipino meatballs, and I would listen as the man would read through the long list of closings and delays. St. Eugene’s was very stingy for closings. Yonkers’ Public Schools on the other hand threw delays like it was Marti Gras beads. I didn’t even have to flash them. I always recall the radio caster saying “No Peas and Carrots today”. I think it was some kindergarten-related after school program. But it was cute hearing all these closings and delays and hearing the words “peas” and “carrots”. It’s like the man accidentally mentioned what he was eating.

Today I was woken up by my roommate Erik saying that schools got canceled. I went back to sleep and woke up at 10:30, an accomplishment since my regular time waking up is 9:30. But I did my laundry last night, so I got about the same amount of sleep. And all the washers were open. Yeah!

I don’t know what I’m gonna do today, I’m probably gonna be lazy and play video games and work on the elliptical. Other than that? Work? Meh. One big Meh.
