The Best of Ma-Mike Revolution 2004
Wooh! It's that dreaded time again. Lets see what I said about my life. I know that there may be lots of things missing this year since my time was short in doing this, I had to listen to audio blogs, and I didn't take a look at Late Mike Special either. But there is a lottttttt of stuff here so take a venture with me and read how much of an idiot i can be. (Or my friends can be)!
---
About Me!: The Crap I said about myself

Second Chances - I told him that if I had a second chance I’d join lacrosse or track. Then in my head I laughed because I know how klutzy I can get. -Mar.08

Fighter: I realized I still have a fighter's spirit. I may be a little weak, (you challenge me and I'll kick your ass. Hopefully you'll catch me on one of my boot/heavy shoe days) but I realized that I’d fight or at least bring people down with me. -Apr.30

About Me - Anywho...I realized something...am I really trustworthy? People seem to come to me and give me their problems/situations. Maybe it's the fact that I listen. Maybe it's the fact that when you become friends with me, you know that you won't be scorned. - Apr.30

Changes? - Have I become a Virgo and not realized it? Was I always like this? I guess I'm at that stage in life where I'm questioning myself and why I do this or what will I do in the future. I'm sure in the next few months I’ll really start building several characteristics that I’ve never even thought I had. -Apr.30

Drop it like it’s hot - I personally think that I'm great at letting go of people, ties, cars, or something. Though I’ve told people that I cry easily, it's usually only when my emotions hit a peak (either an up or down) -Apr.30

Suicidal: And the fact that I (accidentally) swallowed a small amount of Scope and my stomach feels funny. -Jun.23

About Me part 2: Back in 8th grade I was all nervous and stuff and I was just walking over, getting a diploma and that's it. This time I have to make a speech and stuff and I still don't feel anything. -Jun.23

Childhood Shattered: The ride was filled with floodlights and seemingly extended for a few more rotations (or what it seemed). VERY VERY Disappointing. -Jul.12

Poverty: I went to the bank and deposited my money into the bank: 60 in savings, 40 in checking. -Jul.23

My Voice: "And it turns out, I actually have a radio voice. Yeah Other than my you know my singing voice and my normal everyday talking voice." - Nov.05

The Pain: My head is currently burning as the dye magically changes my hair from red back to black. Nov.11

Frugal vs. Fat: I bought 2 Pringles, 2 boxes of cookies, and 2 packages of chewy chips ahoy cookies today....and 2 six packs of raisins. It was all like 10 dollars! -Nov.22

It's True!: "I beat out a retarded person"-Nov.23

Repetition: "I'm not the most personable person." -Nov.23

Donkey: "Realize what an ass I am" -Nov.23

Math Whiz: 6 hours of sleep 6x18 is...108. 108÷24 is...4.5. See! 18-4 is 14 and that means I only really have 14 days to "suffer". -Nov.29

$tress: Ahh, shopping always eases tension for me. -Dec.13
-----
Family and the like:

I love my mom - One of those days I’m shopping with my mother and the sales clerk goes, "Have a nice day". Now any normal person would say 'you too' or something to that degree right? But what does my mother say? "Thank you" and we walked away. I asked her why and her answer was, "Why should she have a nice day? I deserve it too." Funny. -Feb.28

More Mom - So my mother and I did our yearly “god fest”; we watched the 10 commandments. I still laugh at the fact that my mother uses the term “Roses! Roses” a la “Moses! Moses!” when talking to her plants… -Apr.06

That Phrase Again: "My mother says things happen for a reason....things are changing" - Nov.23

My Sister: "The older sister-type" –Nov.23

Manners: I don't go to a house and take pictures of family members, or paintings, or anything STUCK to a wall and pull them down. -Nov.29
----
Friends/Other People:

Ass Kicker: He's the one whose ass will have to be kicked. Sorry Aaron, this is a competition and I'm going to bring my A-game. -May.21

Helpful Hand: The woman was struggling to close one of those metal guard-cover-thingies. Of course it was too heavy. So she asked me to help; I was glad to. So I reached for the cover and pulled it all the way to the bottom. She gave me her thanks and she locked the place. -Aug.21

Angela: "...she had to go to some scholarship breakfast on Saturday with her parents, so she was hanging with her parents and they went shop-ping, and she somehow got a plant...and then she got sick, I don't get how that correlates." –Oct.03

Variation in sound - BLACK EYED PEAS believe in a multi-ethnic sound/unity, oh and George, get the facts straight, STACEY FERGUSON (aka Fergie) is an official member of BEP (for at least one record...the one with JT), and she is white....she was even a member of Wild Orchid! Typecasts: he was in the crowd afterwards yelling "You better work" or "You go girl" out to the people on stage. I confronted him about being a "Black-loud-gay-ish-typecast" but he called himself "Original". Whatever. To me you just type-casted yourself. -May.21

Dumbasses: Vilma goes up to me and she's all like "Oh you know what Mike? You and me shoulda gone to the prom together!" (Dumbass). -May.21

I lied: I think I'd still vote for Mr. W. Bush. I dunno. It could be a little bit of "I'll prove you wrong" with a little bit of "You can't tell me what to do" sentiment. -Jul.03

Learning: I love the greek alphabet! "Phi" is a letter. Forcing the Philippines (and Finland) behind Yemen! Hee! -Aug.14

I’m Observant: "Now...its 11:34." –Nov.23

Keeping in the spirit: "That’s bad. That’s not thankful. That’s not thanksgiving." –Nov.23
Go USA!: I landed on what? "Proud to be an American". Of course, the best way to end a US history class is to end off with the idea that Americans are the bestest ever. Then to add upon all the cheese there were hawks flying in the sky. Then followed by like hundreds of sparrows. – Dec.16
---
Umm…The Other stuff that doesn’t fit…I think

Haunting: Oh and I heard that School 9 in Yonkers is haunted. According to most, by a Music teacher. Not that she died a gruesome death at the school. More like "unfinished business" before she died. -Jan.21

College Life: In his college years, Jay Silly was sportin' the long hair!!!! So weird! -Feb.26

Hallmark Creations - Happy Leap Year Day! I'm still convinced that Leap Year Day is another ploy for Hallmark (You know I love them though) to make a little bit more money...like that valentines day, or black/women/Spanish month or teachers/nurses/secretaries day. Though I think black/women/Spanish is more like a ploy from Barnes and Noble to make you buy books about other cultures when everyone knows that you'll find that one episode on any channel you flip to. Celebrate Black History Month on VH1. –Feb.29

Before College perceptions - Keg Parties: A classic mix of old and new, underage drinking and football players that aren't part of gangs. –Feb.29

Like that counts: "I mean...I voted on Tuesday" - Nov.05

Where I lived: "Bevier...the number 2 fire laden building"-Nov.23

Clothes: I often forget how warm hoodies are since I don't wear them often. It's purple! And it's warm. It says "Washington" on it, but I don't care. It's purple and it's warm.-Dec.21
----
Well, that's it. This may be the longest post ever, but its all recycled. I had a good year this year and I'm hoping for the best in the next. See you guys next year!

Year In Recap: Part 1: The Questionnaire

Heh I sorta stole this from Ryan (and most of his answers...I'm kidding!) But I thought it was a good way to start. How I look at myself now. Parts two and three sorta go through the music and what I said this year. But enought with my blabber, lets see if you know everything about my life.

Well There's Jamily. Angela, Jin and, Althea (And Me, I make the M). The acapella people...sorta out of all the acapella people though, of course Kevin stands out. He keeps me sane during practices, because he's often flat when he sings.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
When things aren't going your way, somehow (i'll say it) God knows what he's doing. Out of nowhere, when you're feeling down, God gives you an Ipod. Love life on a wierd spiral? God gives you a George Forman Grill. I guess my faith in a higher power, faith in friends, and faith in myself have taken a big big boost. I guess my big life lesson (from the book of cliches) is when you're given oranges you make orange juice.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Hmmm...here's my top 5:

5)I won't worry my life away.

When I fall in love I take my time

There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind

You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine

-Jason Mraz "The Remedy"

4)What Goes Around, Comes Around.

What Goes Up, Must Come Down.

-Alicia Keys "Karma"

3)The words are hushed lets not get busted;

just lay entwined here, undiscovered.

Safe in here from all the stupid questions.

"hey did you get some?"

Man, that is so dumb.

Stay quiet, stay near, stay close they can't hear...

so we can get some.

-Dashboard Confessional "Hands Down"

2)I gotta tell you, I wanna tell you

I can be lazy but I'll try not to

Maybe I'm not a very honest person

Right now you're sure that you love me

But are you really sure that you know all about me

Up and down and down down down down we go

-Utada "About Me"

The big one:

1)What would I give

If I could live

Outta these waters?

What would I pay

To spend a day

Warm on the sand?

Betcha on land

They understand

Bet they don't reprimand their daughters

Bright young women

Sick o' swimmin'

Ready to stand

And ready to know what the people know

Ask 'em my questions

And get some answers

What's a fire and why does it

(What's the word?) burn?

When's it my turn?

Wouldn't I love

Love to explore that shore above?

Out of the sea

Wish I could be

Part of that world

-The Little Mermaid "Part of Your World"

Sappy eh?...Yeah, but it sorta fits. I'm not a daughter, but other than that, it's supposed to be that ideal song about being free from the holds of your parents trying your best in the "real world." Or something to that extent.

Part two and three coming very very soon! Part two: My top 50 songs played on Itunes! There's no shockers here. Not a lot of current songs here either. Odd. Part three? Thats the dumb things I said this year.
